The IICL’s membership engages in leasing marine\u00a0cargo\u00a0containers and\u00a0chassis to\u00a0vessel operators\u00a0and\u00a0other\u00a0organizations\u00a0on a\u00a0broad international basis.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ISO<\/strong>\u00a0– International Standardization\u00a0Organization<\/strong><\/em> is\u00a0an independent, non-governmental\u00a0international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various\u00a0national standards\u00a0organizations. The ISO headquarter is based in Geneva Switzerland and it is the world’s largest developer of\u00a0voluntary\u00a0international standards and facilitates world trade by providing\u00a0common\u00a0standards among nations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CSC<\/strong>–\u00a0stands\u00a0for Container for Safe\u00a0Convention<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0plate. A CSC plate is\u00a0fastened to every container at the time that it\u00a0is\u00a0manufactured\u00a0and typically bolted outside of the\u00a0left\u00a0door\u00a0of the container. This is established in 1972 with the\u00a0goal to maintain a high level\u00a0of safety for human\u00a0life in\u00a0the transport and\u00a0handling of the container by\u00a0providing generally\u00a0acceptable test procedures and related\u00a0strength requirements. This also\u00a0aims to\u00a0facilitate the international transport of containers by\u00a0providing uniform international safety regulations equally\u00a0applicable\u00a0to all modes of surface transport.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CW<\/strong>– Cargo Worthy<\/em><\/strong> is\u00a0a\u00a0criteria\u00a0for\u00a0used\u00a0shipping\u00a0containers\u00a0that are deemed\u00a0suitable for the transport of a\u00a0cargo\u00a0for\u00a0international maritime shipping. A cargo worthy standard generally implies that the container has a valid CSC and have met all the standards laid out in its original specification.\u00a0A container can be certified by a\u00a0third-party\u00a0container\u00a0surveyor pursuant to a physical\u00a0inspection of the used shipping container\u00a0to be considered as a cargo worthy unit. Cargo worthy containers are commonly considered more superior than wind watertight containers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WWT<\/strong>– stands for Wind Watertight<\/strong><\/em> containers that are suitable for\u00a0storage\u00a0but not good for international shipping because it does not meet the criteria for\u00a0international\u00a0shipping standard. Wind watertight\u00a0is easily\u00a0classified\u00a0as a container that when you lock yourself inside it you will not see any light coming. There are no holes and leaks on any surface of the container that makes it suitable for long terms storage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As Is<\/strong>–\u00a0As Is<\/strong><\/em> condition is a lower\u00a0category of a container. This best\u00a0describes\u00a0to\u00a0containers that are not surveyed and may have some holes,\u00a0dents\u00a0and\u00a0damaged or a mixed of wind watertight and cargo worthy depending on\u00a0location and season.\u00a0These kinds of containers\u00a0are generally cheaper than cargo worthy and wind watertight containers.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One Trip<\/strong>– New or One Trip<\/strong><\/em> are types of containers\u00a0are new and were used only once during travel from the\u00a0manufacturing\u00a0country. Either 20 foot containers for sale<\/a> or 40 foot shipping containers for sale<\/a>, these containers are in very good condition and the\u00a0appearance\u00a0certainly looks new.
